AstralFate
Our biggest project. Tarot readers, astrologers and numerologists sell consultations here, and visitors can get a free reading in 10 seconds without signing up. The free tools bring people in, and the paid consultations make the money.
The key is trust around money. A client pays for a consultation, but the money is held and only goes to the reader once the client confirms the service was delivered. If something goes wrong, the client opens a dispute, and a moderator joins the same conversation, reads the history and decides who gets the money back.
Payments come in three ways: cards and SBP through Robokassa, crypto through NOWPayments, and manual bank transfer. Email goes out from our own mail server, rated 9.6 out of 10 on mail-tester. There is a ticket-based support desk that even guests without an account can write to. Before launch we ran a full security audit and closed all 169 findings in one day.
How it's built
The server is written in Rust with PostgreSQL. Money is kept as whole numbers in the smallest unit, and every balance change is one transaction that locks the account, so money can't go missing or be counted twice.
The card shuffle in free readings runs the same code in the browser (via WebAssembly) and on the server, so results can be verified. Every update checks itself and rolls back if the site doesn't answer.
Who this suits
Service marketplaces, online consultations, schools, and any platform where a client pays a specialist and both sides need to know the money only moves for work actually done.
